Album With Olympics Opening Ceremony Music Tops Download ... - The People Speak Out

The opening ceremony for the London Olympics 2012 captivated the world. The ceremony, which was overloaded with fireworks, a large fire structure, and bicycles with wings, also impressed by its musical diversity.

Raging from the Arctic Monkeys to Paul McCartney on the piano, who sang "Hey Jude," the musical performances moved the world, and the result became evident in digital music sales, reported Pollstar.

Last Friday, minutes after the opening ceremony of the most important sports event in the world was over, the songs that were performed during the event were compiled in an album and were available on iTunes.

Hence, the songs that appeared under Danny Boyle's direction, proved once again Britain's musical excellence. The songs by artists like David Bowie, the Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Dizzee Rascal, Emeli Sande, the Pet Shop Boys, Arctic Monkeys and Paul McCartney—which are included in the album—topped charts and sales turning the album into number one in digital sales in Britain, France, Spain, and Belgium.

The opening ceremony record for the Olympic games London 2012, is listed as No. 5 in digital charts in the United States and it is also listed as No. 5 in general charts in Britain.

Despite the fact that the Olympics in London have been overshadowed by the militarization of the event as well as by the strong restrictions imposed to the assistants, it's a fact that the games are one of the most important events worldwide, and the best way to celebrate them is with music!
